Class Experience

Walt Disney World is coming back and it's time to start planning. Do you still want to visit the most Magical Place on Earth? Join me in this class and learn how to plan and budget for taking a trip in the future. Even with restrictions it is always magical.
* Due to room booking and ticket purchasing restrictions on disney.com some of our budgets may be estimates and not exacts.

Learn budgeting strategies as you plan for a real or virtual WDW vacation.

Session #1- Discussion about needs and wants and plan a total budget to work from. Students will begin to keep a spreadsheet of expenses to track their spending. Through exploring the different options on the WDW website students will decide what type of vacation they want to take. Will it be a thrilling ride trip, a historical trip to learn about the parks, a slow and relaxing visit, or a nonstop get everything in visit. They will also decided on the length of their visit.
Session #2- Using the needs and wants list that we created in session one we will begin to plan trip. We will begin to look at the cost of the hotel stay. Looking at things like staying at one hotel the whole trip or maybe swapping hotels mid trip for a different experience. We will also look at cost of tickets to the theme parks. We will look at all options like individual day tickets, park hoping tickets or maybe is an annual pass more cost efficient for this trip.
Session #3- Plan daily schedule and cost of each event. We will look at things like which park to visit on which day, where do we want to eat each day, what shows we want to experience or what characters do we want to visit. We will look at the cost of the different dining plans deciding if it is cheaper to purchase food daily or purchase a dining plan and have all food prepaid. Looking at how do the different options fit into our budget.
Session #4- What to do with our rest day? How does it factor into overall budget? Discussion of things like do we visit Disney Springs, hang by the hotel pool, or maybe we hit a waterpark? Do we add to our trip and go to another theme park for the day? We will begin finalizing our spreadsheet and begin presenting our final plan to the group. Complete final calculation sheet to determine if in budget, ways to save for the trip and present trip to the group.
