Class experience
In this course, we will discuss the basics of budgeting. Your student will learn what to do with the money they earn. We will enter a black hole that will shoot us forward in time until they are adults! They will learn the principles of zero-based budgeting, how to save for big expenses and purchases and how to give with joy! Students will learn what we can do with our money. They will learn how to make a plan to be successful in reaching their money goals. They will learn zero-based budgeting and how to save, give and spend responsibly.
I have a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master's in Mental Health Counseling. This helps to understand the underlying human emotions and thinking behind the various financial decisions we make in our everyday lives. I have been budgeting and studying various budgeting methodologies for many years and see this as a great hobby of mine! Using my training as a Mental Health Counselor to see how this affects our purchasing and saving decisions is so very interesting to me!
Students can bring paper and pencil with them to class to write as needed. It is very helpful for the student to have a calculator as they'll be adding big numbers. If they don't have one in class, that is ok, I can add it up for them on my calculator.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
