This lesson covers the following soap bubble topics:

What's Included:

1). One 30-minute live online class session with Gloria Brooks.

2). One 12-page accompanying study guide

3). One 1-page Bubbleology journal for note-taking and sketching.


What Students Need for Class

1). Downloaded copies of Bubbleology journal and study guide.

2). Optional: print out the study guide for students to handwrite into or fill out digitally during the live class experience.

3). Optional: Pencil with a good eraser if filling out study guide by hand.

4). Optional: Bring bubbles to class for a bubble blowing party at the end of class. Practice blowing the biggest bubble and as many bubbles as you can in 10 seconds. Show us any bubble tricks you invent.

Basic Class structure:

Class begins with a pre-PowerPoint lesson followed by the main lesson PowerPoint taught by Gloria Brooks. After the PowerPoint lesson, learners will engage with an embedded Quizlet together. If any students have brought bubbles to the class, we can have a bubble blowing party.

Learners will broaden their understanding of soap bubble physics, optics, mathematics, and art through engaging discussion, writing, and an interactive Quizlet.

Supply List
1. Download the student study guide from the Outschool classroom. Optional: printout and handwrite into it, or type into it digitally 
2. Optional: If handwriting into study guide, use a favorite writing utensil (pencil, mechanicl pencil, pen, etc).
3.  Favorite drawing tools for study guide journal sketch area: markers, colored pencils, crayons, etc.

I hold a BA in K - 12 education. I have taught all grades and all subjects in-person since 1996 and online classes since 2011.  I fell in love with teaching the sciences with math applications back in 2003 and brought my experience and expertise for my MathArt course series and sciences online since 2011.
