55 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
During this lesson, students will join me in the kitchen as we discuss turning a classic favorite, brownies, into easy to eat cookies! We will learn the value of preparing all ingredients ahead of time and incorporating them in the correct order. Additionally, tips for how to ensure these come out the absolute best to impress and share with their family/friends! We will learn the importance of keeping clean areas and keeping clean hands. While I will guide the lesson, I always encourage students to ask questions along the way, share progress with the class and interact with other students. My goal is to make this super fun and excite them about what they are creating! The class is structured in order to keep us on track to finish the preparation, however I HIGHLY encourage students to stop me anytime they need help. Additionally, I always make sure we are all together and on task before moving to the next step. Prior in depth baking knowledge is not required, however I would suggest they have prior knowledge of what items are used in baking (measuring cups, pans, bowls, etc). Full ingredient and equipment list will be posted in the classroom space ~48 hours before class! Although I try to teach for all ages, younger learners that are unfamiliar with baking may require assistance. I always encourage students to take the basics lesson prior to classes. This helps them understand everything we do, why we do it in the order we do and provides helpful tips for baking in general. (Junior Baking - Let's Begin for Beginners: Fundamentals for Baking) **All classes can be offered one-on-one or for a private group. Please message me if you are interested in either of these options.**
Learning Goals
Students will learn to be more confident in the kitchen, as well as thinking outside of the box when baking!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have worked with children for over 15 years! I LOOOOOOOVE to bake and cookies have always been a very strong capability of mine. I come from a long line of bakers and I love the confidence that baking can bring to young learners. Additionally, I use baking with my own children to teach attention to detail and the value of preparing ahead of time.
