During this class, we will introduce basic color and animal signs in American Sign Language while reading aloud to the story “Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See” by Bill Martin. After story time we will practice our newly learned signs with a interactive game! I believe in creating a warm and inviting environment when working with children and will encourage engagement from the learners when we begin the class by sharing what our favorite colors are. The learners will also have the opportunity to engage when we play a color recognition game at the end of our read aloud.
Learning Goals
Students will work on listening skills and taking turns while developing our social skills.
This class will introduce children to American Sign Language by teaching color and animal vocabulary signs.
