Broadway Vocal Lab provides young vocalists a foundation in vocal techniques for vocal support, breathing for singers, vocal pitch, and timing. We will focus on positive habits for maintaining good vocal health and the tools every young singer should have for warm-ups and building vocal strength. Every vocalist in class will sing group warm-ups and have the opportunity to practice their technique through a variety of Broadway show tunes. The song selections will come from contemporary...
I have taught musical theatre and vocal lessons for over 26 years and have a B.A. in Theatre Performance with an emphasis in acting and musical theatre and a M.A. in Theatre Production.
Successful students will submit a vocal recording each week to the class Flipgrid. All homework is due on Sunday's no later than 5:00 pm PST.
Students will need to have straws and water available for some vocal exercises.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Written assessments are available upon request.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
All printable materials will be made available to students in class via PDF files. Students will need to use Flipgrid to submit their weekly video vocal performance.
