What does it take to be a Broadway star? In this 1 week/4 day virtual camp, we will explore stage presence while learning how to sing, dance and act like a star! This is an introductory class into the world of theater.

This musical theatre camp will expose the child to every primary skill set needed to be a Broadway performer. The areas of focus during this Level 1 class will be in acting, singing and dancing. I will expound on each category on separate days. The first day will provide a solid foundation for building healthy vocal technique. We will learn about proper breath and resonation technique. I will also provide a series of warm ups to help train and develop the voice and there will be song application! On the second day, we will focus on what it takes to shine as a performer and what acting is all about. Energetic and interactive acting games will be played and I will give an introduction to the basics of acting technique. Audition tips will also be given! The third day is all about dancing! I will be leading an energetic musical theater dance class. We will start with a strong warm up and move into learning choreography. The last day will be a review so that the child can retain what they’ve learned! There will even be an opportunity to practice a mock audition and work one on one with me, if the child wants to. This level 1 Broadway camp will be exciting, engaging and driven by strong technique. I have been a musical theater performer for 15 years and have performed regionally, all over the country and on Broadway. I have a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Musical Theater from the University of Florida. I also have two teaching certifications, one of which is a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification. I attained it at One Yoga School in Kho Pha-ngan, Thailand. I specialize in Vinyassa and Hatha Yoga.
I have a passion for guiding, training and inspiring children in the areas of theater, voice, dance and yoga! I endeavor to create a positive and encouraging learning environment for children of all ages/levels in each category. On going instruction (private lessons are available too) is also available for any child who is serious about considering musical theater as a hobby or potential profession. I can provide the necessary tools to help grow their skill set as an actor, singer and/or dancer. More advanced lessons in yoga are also available if interested.
