Designed for theatre lovers and movie fans alike, this class will spark creativity, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for the magic of musical storytelling. Every 2 weeks, we'll discuss a new movie musical and discuss: - Storytelling Through Song: How songs drive the plot and reveal character motivations. - Behind-the-Scenes Magic: Exploring costumes, sets, lighting, and special effects. - Choreography and Movement: How dance enhances storytelling. - Themes and Messages: What movie musicals teach us about life, love, and friendship. - Cultural and Historical Context: Understanding the time and place of each musical. - Audience Connection: Why certain musicals resonate across generations. Classes are structured to encourage active participation and creativity. Each session begins with a brief overview of the week’s movie musical, followed by guided questions, interactive activities, and collaborative discussions. Parental Guidance
This film club explores age-appropriate movie musicals, primarily rated G or PG, with occasional PG-13 titles (due to mild language or themes). Some films may include mild peril, emotional themes, or social issues, which will be discussed in a sensitive and age-appropriate way.
All discussions are moderated to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment

No prior experience or prerequisites are required for course. Learners of all skill levels are welcome to join

Over the years, I’ve taught filmmaking, screenwriting, and media production across various settings, including New York Film Academy, Columbia University, and private tutoring. My teaching experience spans middle school to university-level students, with a focus on hands-on learning, project-based instruction, and creative mentorship.
