Class Experience

In this Musical Theatre Camp, students will gain knowledge of general theatre concepts as well as specialized knowledge about musical theatre.

Students will learn:

-Musical Theatre Trivia
-Facts about the Costumes, Set Design, Lighting, and the other technical aspects
-Dance and Sing to We Don't Talk About Bruno, and Vocal Technique for "What Else Can I Do"
-Character exploration of your favorite Roles in Encanto

We will conclude the week by performing the songs and dances we learned.

Day 1: Introduction to Musical Theatre Camp plus Sing-a-long and vocal rehearsal. This day includes an overview of the week, including some info about Encanto. We will also learn various vocal warm-ups to help with vocal technique.
Day 2: Vocals/Dance We Don't Talk About Bruno: Students will continue working on vocals for our song. Half the class will be dedicated to singing My shot and the other half will be an introduction to the choreography. This day we will also discuss technical theatre, and students have the option to create and/or put together a costume and backdrop for the final performance.
Day 3: Dance/Vocal Rehearsal for My Shot, Introduce "What Else Can I Do". We will also discuss technical theatre. Students have the option to create and/or put together a costume and backdrop for the final performance.
Day 4: Review of Dance and Music. Students will record their performance of "What Else Can I Do" Students will receive personal feedback (if they request) on their performance of Burn.
Day 5: Dress rehearsal for our performance of "We Don't Talk About Bruno" You will perform the final performance like you are on a real Broadway stage in your living room.

This class has no prerequisites and is a great introduction to musical theatre. Although students should be self-motivated and have a desire to learn musical theatre. There is significant "outside practice" including rehearsing the dances and songs, as well as recording their performance of "What Else Can I Do".
