Description

Class Experience

I have taught theatre and language arts as a certified public school teacher, performed as an actor, taught, and been a director at regional theatre companies for over 26 years.
Students are encouraged to practice their performances outside of class. At the end of the week students may post their recorded performances in the classroom for feedback from Ms. Jen.
Students will need a water bottle, a straw for vocal warm-ups, and comfortable clothing or shoes to dance in. On the third day of each week students will give individual performances. It is extremely helpful if they have access to a second device to play the class music links. This device could be a phone or tablet. This second device helps the classmates hear each other in the best possible way in a live classroom online format.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
A written assessment is available upon request.
1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Students will need to have plenty of space to be standing and moving during this class. Please make sure students are wearing comfortable clothing, shoes, and have a water nearby for staying hydrated.
I create video sing-alongs for each week's lesson. These videos are accessed through Youtube. All material will be provided in the the classroom as printable documents or music video links.
