Is your budding performed obsessed with The Greatest Showman, The Lion King, Aladdin, or Frozen? Have they been showing off their smooth moves in the kitchen? Are they ready to take the next step? This class will teach dances from popular musicals from both the stage and the screen. Each class will focus on one dance so don't worry about getting behind if you miss a class. The first 4 weeks will follow the following dance routine schedule: Week of February 1st: The Greatest Showman Week of February 8th: Arabian Nights Week of February 15: Let it Go Week of February 20: I Just Can't Wait to be King After completion of the first 4 weeks, students will be able to submit their own dance routine requests. Requests that are considered by the teacher must meet Outschool's guidelines on appropriate content. Class will include a warm-up, learning basic steps, putting the steps into the dance routine, and a cool-down. Please make sure that your learner has adequate space to move around in (at least 6 feet in each direction) *In order to follow copyright law, please note that students will not be performing the dances learned as part of a paid performance. Students must have access to their own copy of the music audio to practice the dance routines. No previous experience required.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there!
Welcome to my classroom! I am so excited that you are joining us!
Currently I offer classes in dance, stress/coping, social-emotional learning, and Japanese.
With a background in both child development as well as the performing arts, I connect with learners through creative activities while also meeting them at their appropriate level. As a certified child life specialist, I help learners identify goals, learn how to achieve them, while also strengthening their physical and mental health.
I believe that learning should be tailored to the student and his/her needs. I also believe that learning takes place in an environment where the student feels safe to try, fail, and try again. Finally, I believe that learning should be fun, hopefully with some laughter and delight!
What do I do in my spare time? I love to bake, speak Japanese, watch anime, and perform onstage or in my bedroom!
