This British politics course aims to provide students with no prior knowledge of the subject with a basic understanding of the UK political system as well as current political trends in the UK. The class will be interactive, and students are welcome to break at any time for questions as the class is in progress. There will be questions throughout the class to encourage this interaction. No prior knowledge of British politics is required. Sensitive topics will be dealt with appropriately and factually, with both sides given equal weighting. The class aims to provide students with the information that allows them to make up their own minds about issues. I am a qualified chartered accountant and therefore maintaining an up-dated political knowledge is important for my profession. I hold an honours degree and master's degree in finance. I have over 5 years' experience in a professional capacity. In a previous role I was a political researcher at the Scottish parliament, researching policy across a number of areas including the economy.
