Let's learn the basics to bring your online tabletop role-playing gaming group online with the popular virtual tabletop, Roll20. We will go from inviting your group, all the way to your first session. This will be an interactive class, so the students are encouraged to follow along with me as we walk through setting up a game, adding players, creating maps and tokens, and various controls for your tabletop and the players. We will discuss various games that you could play on the platform and open it up to any in-depth questions students might have if we have time. Having some knowledge of tabletop role-playing games will help in understanding the features of the tool, but are not necessary.
Learning Goals
The students should be able to walk away from the class knowing how to use the tool for their own games. They will be able to setup the game, create multiple maps, add and manage characters, and add music to various encounters.
