When we talk with others about positive things that have happened to us, these moments help us feel closer to one another. In this ongoing class under the facilitation of a gifted educator, students will learn how to share and respond to positive stories shared in a way that nurtures positive feelings and a sense of closeness with others. As humans, we are drawn to negative stories because being tuned in to things that can harm us helps us predict when we will encounter a challenging situation. That said, it is also important, and natural to humans, to share when things go right. Providing support and encouragement for others not only helps them feel better, it helps us feel better, too. Talking about positive events together creates a shared positive experience that helps everyone involved feel good. Each week's conversation and lessons will in many ways be determined by the interests and experiences of the students as guided by the facilitator/instructor. With that in mind, parents can expect their children will gain experience with: - Learning how to recognize positive things in their lives and tell others about them - Responding to the positive stories told by others in ways that enhance these stories for everyone. As an ongoing class, students can participate once or multiple times. ----- A NOTE ABOUT THE COST OF THIS CLASS: I know the price of my classes is higher than many others on Outschool. As an experienced and talented educator, I believe I'm worth this amount and invite you to look at my reviews. That said, I don't want any family to be priced out of what I offer. Whatever your financial situation, if you're interested in one or more of my classes, please reach out and let me know what you can afford. I can provide coupons, refunds, and/or reductions, and am confident we can find an equitable rate that works for you and me.
