Welcome to “Minions & Friends: Write Your Own Adventure!” This is a 4-week creative writing class where you'll get to explore your creativity and create wacky, funny, and action-packed stories with everyone's favorite Minions and their friends. Each week, we'll dive into the basics of storytelling, from building interesting characters to writing funny dialogue and unexpected plot twists. By the end of the course, you'll have written your very own Minion adventure story that could rival anything Gru and his crew have been up to! Get ready to laugh, create, and unleash your imagination.

Meet the Minions Character Creation & setting the stage.
This week we will have an introduction to Minion and friends' personalities.
Our first exercise: Create your own Minion character! (Name, abilities, quirks, etc.)
Setting the scene: Where will your Minion story take place? (Adventure on a spaceship? A crazy carnival?)
*Bring some ideas for setting the scene.
*Bring some ideas to next class about your minion character - what do they like and dislike.

Lesson 2:
Plotting the Madness – Developing the Story
This week we will work on writing exercises on what motivates your Minion character.
Planning a mission or adventure for your Minion team.
How to create unexpected twists and turns in your story (Think: Lost treasure, funny accidents, or heroic saves).
*Bring some dialogue ideas to the next class. Funny interactions, Villain interactions etc.

Lesson 3:
Dialogue & Action - Bringing Your Story to Life
This week we are learning how to write engaging dialogue and make your characters sound just like the Minions and their friends!
Write an action-packed scene with your Minion character.
Focus on pacing and using humor to keep the story fun.
*Next week we will finish up our stories and read them be prepared.

Lesson 4:
The Big Finale – Completing and Sharing Your Story
This week we will work on finishing your Minion story with a satisfying ending (Is it a happy one or a hilarious cliffhanger?).
Share your story with the class, and let the laughs roll in as we read everyone’s hilarious adventures!

Learning Needs
As a Special Education teacher, I welcome all types of learners with all unique learning needs.
Extra support and feedback will be given as needed to help the learners feel more comfortable in the classroom.
Pre-Requisites
Learners should know how to write a basic story.
Supply List
Learners may use whatever device they choose. They may also feel more comfortable writing on paper or in a small journal book.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
