Brilliant Bioluminescence: Make a Pop up Angler Fish

What do and angler fish, fire flies, and some types of mushrooms have in common? They glow! Join us as we uncover the phenomenal phenomenon that is bioluminescence. In this class, we will discuss the process of bioluminescence. We will chat about the different types of living things that exhibit this trait, and the different types of bioluminescence that exist. Throughout the class, we will ask and answer a variety of questions, encouraging our critical thinking skills and social engagement....
-Students will improve their understanding of bioluminescence. -Students will create an angler fish craft.
-Printable templates, located in class. -At least two sheets of construction paper or cardstock, I typically prefer blue or sea colors. -Glue stick -Scissors -A blue pipe cleaner and a yellow pipe cleaner -Two googly eyes, or a marker to draw on eyes -Optional, glow in the dark glue or paint and a brush to make a glowing lantern for our angler fish
-Learners will use scissors to cut out different items for the craft. Please provide adequate, off-screen supervision in order to support your learner.
