Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this class, your child will build math confidence as she/he reviews 2nd grade Math skills and is introduced to 3rd grade Math skills. Each class is working on an independent skill, so if you cannot attend every class, that is not a problem. Lessons will include fun activities and games with an experienced elementary math teacher. Scholars will feel safe to make mistakes and try new skills. Week 1: Place Value and Number Sense (Feb. 10,12, 13) Week 2- Comparing and Ordering Numbers (Feb 17, 19, 20) Week 3- Reviewing even and odd (Feb 24, 26, 27) Week 4- Addition (Mar. 3, 5, 6) Week 5-Subtraction (Mar. 10, 12, 13) Week 6-Subtracting Across Zeros (Mar. 17, 19, 20) Week 7- Introduction to Multiplication and Division (Mar. 24, 26, 27) Week 8- More Multiplication (Mar. 31, Apr. 2, 3) Week 9- More Division (Apr. 7, 9, 10) Week 10- Problem Solving: Choosing an operation (Apr. 14, 16, 17) Week 11-Continued practice with problem solving-choosing an operation (Apr. 21, 22, 23) Week 12-Telling Time (Apr. 28, 30, May 1) Week 13- Fractions of a set and fractions of a whole (May 5, 7, 8) Week 14- Viewing fractions on a number line (May 12, 14, 15) Week 15- Understanding equivalent fractions (May 19, 21, 22) Week 16- Viewing equivalent fractions on a number line. (May 28, 29, June 2) Week 17- Comparing fractions viewing pictorial models and number line (Jun. 4, 5, 9) Week 18- Area and Perimeter- we will use Cheezits or other squares to view area. (Jun. 11,12,16) Week 19- Making 2D Polygons using toothpicks or Q-Tips (June 18, 19, 23) Week 20- 3D Solids- creating solids using toothpicks and Dots candy (June 25, 26, 30) Week 21- Congruent and Incongruent figures in geometry (July 2, 3, 7) Week 22- Data Analysis (July 9, 10, 14) Week 23- Rounding (July 16, 17, 21) Week 24- Continued practice with rounding (July 23, 24, 28) Week 25- Financial Literacy (July 30, 31, Aug. 4) Week 26- Completing Financial Literacy (Aug. 6, 7, 11)
Learning Goals
Scholars will master 3rd grade math skills while building confidence and a love for math. The class is taught at a third grade level with review included of previous 2nd grade skills.

Parental Guidance
Occasionally food items will be needed for hands-on math activities. Please watch for supply updates as the course continues.
Pre-Requisites
Students will do best if they have completed 2nd grade math.
Supply List
paper, pencil or white board and marker. Occasionally we will need small food items, colorful buttons or beads or similar for hands-on learning. When we study geometry, we will need toothpicks and Dots candy.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
