Bridge to Terabithia Novel Study
In this 3-week course, myself and my students will get to read Bridge to Terabithia together and dive deeper into writing, reading comprehension, and more.
Class experience
US Grade 4 - 7
This class is based around the reading of the story, Bridge to Terabithia. We will dive deep into the story, targeting reading comprehension, vocabulary, strong summaries, and character/setting analysis. The class will be structured fairly similar each class. We will greet one another, read a chapter from the story, and work on topics that were listed above through Quick Writes, True/False Questions, Discussions, Multiple Choice Questions, and more. This class is taught in English.
Students will improve and practice summarizing stories and using resources to improve vocabulary and gain a deeper understanding by using context clues. Students will also be practicing understanding and recalling of what is being read (reading comprehension).
Homework Offered
There will not be any homework in this course. As for reading, we WILL be reading the book together in class. With this being said, students will not need to read any pages independently unless they miss a class and need to get caught up.Assessments Offered
Throughout the course, students will be assessed by writing summaries, answering reading comprehension questions, and a final Kahoot at the end of the course.Grades Offered

This book does contain a child's death and grief in the aftermath of a tragedy, mention of cremation, and some strong language (bitch, damn, hell).
We will use the book, Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson. We will use the website, Kahoot, in our final meeting to discuss the entire book.
