This class is perfect for the young builder or anyone new to creating with building blocks who is looking to create fun new designs and interact with others. Projects are subject to chance based on requests from learners in class. With a step-by-step approach, students will focus on learning to follow directions, problem solving skills and creative thinking. In addition, learners will get to interact with each other by sharing their creations, talk about their designs and present their final project. Once their project is complete, if students want to they will have an opportunity for extended learning by creating their own design and sharing it with the group. Teacher expertise and credentials
I have my bachelors degree in special education plus additional course work for art and TESOL (teaching English as a second language). I have been working with children for more than 20 years including as a certified teacher and a homeschool mom. I have worked with a wide variety of age groups and and taught a variety of subjects including severe-profound special education preschool, honors high school and everything in between. But my specialties are drawing, brick building classes, elementary literacy, special education and baking. I even own small bakery!
My husband and I have three children. We enjoy camping, hiking, going to the park and playing board games as a family. My personal hobbies include baking, reading, painting, drawing and crocheting.
