The students will work directly with Mr. Michael. My teaching style begins by setting expectations and direction, followed by open dialogue and one-on-one interaction. - I review students' models or designs to offer thoughts to elevate the design or respond to an area of struggle. - All inquires are welcome from the curious to the advanced students. - There are opportunities for share n' show and group discussion. - The class uses interconnecting mechanical elements (gears, pulleys, levers, axles, and more).
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to identify and use interconnecting elements in their STEM creations. Interconnecting elements include, but are not limited to, wheels, axles, pins, beams, and frames. Adding elements to STEM-based creative creations allows function and movement to projects such as machines, robots, or vehicles. Students gain foundational knowledge of how to innovate and incorporate interconnecting pieces into their builds.
