"Your mind is a garden and books are the seeds, so pick a favorite, and bloom as you read!" These beginning independent reader chapter books are perfect for your horse-loving developing reader. These are designed for 2nd grade reading level, but could easily be read by an advanced 1st grader, or beginning 3rd graders. We will spend the class, reading directly from the reader to each other. Student will not need their own copy of the reader, though it may be to their preference. I will provide an online image of the pages for them to read, but some student prefer to hold the book in their own hands to reading it on a screen. These books may be found at libraries and new and used bookstores. The Amazon link is: https://a.co/d/eqb3fJO. There are 10 books in the set. We will take as much time as needed to read each book in class (This will be a learner-directed class pace). Thus, this class is ongoing until we finish all ten books. You may join the class at any time. Please email me and I will let you know what book we are currently reading. The order of books is as follows: 1) Snowflake 2) Belle 3) Fancy 4) Penny 5) Patch 6) Stormy 7) Lucky 8) Dash 9) Diamond 10) Starlight (current book, page 4) Reading to peers and following along as peers read to one another is a necessary reading skill for elementary age readers. This skill will be honed while we enjoy reading about horses!

Hello from Texas! Although I am currently residing in Texas, we move quite often and that has allowed me to have many different types of career experiences. I have tutored privately and through well-known organizations; taught in the public school classroom setting with a self-contained classroom (including 4th grade and Texas History); substituted and interned in private school classroom settings; instructed at the community college level (History); assisted with museum operations; and homeschooled my three munchkins. I have worked with early education all the way up to the community college level. My Bachelors is in childhood education with a Master's in American History.
