1 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one-time class, learners will get to make their model horse a fly mask and fly blanket. This is the perfect class for learners who love horses and crafts. I will teach this class by walking the learners through a step-by-step process while I also make the project. I believe kids learn best by watching and doing so I always do the project alongside the learners so they have visual instruction as well as verbal. materials needed: mesh fabric (not woven like burlap) can be purchased by the yard at most fabric stores. The smallest amount they will cut is ok usually like 1/8 yard. 1/4" wide bias tape jump rings lobster claws 1/8" ribbon or leather cording scissors ruler marker craft/jewelry pliers are helpful for working with jump rings hot glue gun If you have a young learner who is interested in taking this class they are more than welcome please be away that you may need to assist them. I have many other one-time craft classes available as well as an ongoing hose craft class linked below will be the other classes. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello everyone, I'm Britney! I am so glad you popped into my bio to learn more about me.
I teach 2 main topics on Outschool. The first one being classes about horses, the other about YouTube. I would love the opportunity to share why I choose these very different topics.
Why teach about horses?
Well first off who doesn't love horses? am I right? What is not to love about these wonderful and powerful animals?
I have been riding since I was about 9 years old so over 20 years now. I ride mostly English although I did have a brief spot on the high school rodeo team where I competed in barrel racing. Even though I loved barrel racing my passion was in jumping. I competed in jumping all over the United States for over 10 years. I have run my own lesson and training program for multiple years as well as trained with some of the best equestrians in the US including Bob McDonald who is a famous trainer and husband of Olympian dressage rider Debbie McDonald. To say the least I have an incredible passion for horses and love teaching other horse-loving kids all about horses as well.
So why teach about YouTube?
I have a YouTube channel with over 10K subscribers and have learned so much along the way. YouTube is an ever-changing platform but has not slowed down in growth. I love to study how the YouTube algorithms work and how to get great views on your videos. I have learned so much about how to have a successful channel and like to be able to benefit your aspiring YouTubers by providing the knowledge all in one place. I offer two main YouTube classes. A "crash course" where we go over everything and a social/support group in an ongoing class format where they can come together to meet other like-minded creators. Video creation and YouTube are a big passion of mine and I think it's wonderful to support like-minded children on their YouTube journey.
My teaching style:
I am a fun and upbeat teacher with a hand on conversation-based learning style. I like to include my students in every aspect of the teaching process whether it be asking questions or encouraging communication between my learners. I like to make sure my students are engaged and excited to take my classes. I want every class to be fun as well as an awesome learning experience.
Some fun facts about me:
I am the mother of 3 wonderful children ages 9, 12, and 14.
I live in Boise, ID but am originally from the Bay Area in Ca. and lived in Jackson Hole, WY for 10 years in between.
I love the ocean.
I have 4 younger siblings one of which is 20 years younger than me.
I have 1 dog and 3 bunnies.
If anyone has any questions for me I am happy to respond and I would love to see one of your learners in my classes.
