What's included
4 live meetings
4 in-class hoursClass Experience
This is Level two craft camp week. I also offer a level one and a barn building camp. Level one has crafts that are a little easier than level 2. Learners are more than welcome to take one or all 3 classes. One is not needed to take the others. Welcome to horse craft camp! In this 4-day horse camp, we will be making fun crafts for our Breyers, Schleich, or other model horses. We will be making a variety of horse accessories! The crafts we will make are: Day one: Saddle stands Day two: Halters and lead ropes Day three: Fly blanket and fly mask Day four: Cross country jumps If we have extra time on the last day we will also have a bonus craft. Please make sure your learner has all the materials ready for class, some items may require adult supervision. If we have time at the end of each class we will also do a show and tell if learners want to bring their favorite horse to show. Materials needed are: 4” popsicle sticks 8” popsicle sticks Thin craft dowel sticks 1/8” non-satin ribbon or leather cording (this will mainly be for the halter) Thin rope for lead rope (the leather cording works for this I love to use a thin cotton rope) Small jump rings (These can be as small as you’d like for the halter but need to be able to fit 3 pieces of the ribbon or leather cording through them) Lobster claps Mesh fabric (this needs to be a true mesh not a woven fabric like burlap, this can be purchased from the fabric department. Just a small amount is needed I believe most fabric stores will let you purchase in a small 1/8th yard quantity) 1/4” bias tape Ruler with inches and centimeters Hot glue gun Scissors heavy duty scissors that can cut popsicle sticks wire cutters work great. I use the Dewalt wire cutters from home depot they are about $13 and work great. Also needed will be the printout I send out before class. Some optional items are: Small flowers or other items for decorating cross country jumps Paint for jumps This will be a very hands-on crafty camp please be aware of your learner's abilities using items such and a hot glue gun and heavy-duty scissors. If your learner is younger than the recommended age but you think they can do the crafts or you are willing to help I do not have a problem if they enroll. I can't wait to make all these fun horse items!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello everyone, I'm Britney! I am so glad you popped into my bio to learn more about me.
I teach 2 main topics on Outschool. The first one being classes about horses, the other about YouTube. I would love the opportunity to share why I choose these very different topics.
Why teach about horses?
Well first off who doesn't love horses? am I right? What is not to love about these wonderful and powerful animals?
I have been riding since I was about 9 years old so over 20 years now. I ride mostly English although I did have a brief spot on the high school rodeo team where I competed in barrel racing. Even though I loved barrel racing my passion was in jumping. I competed in jumping all over the United States for over 10 years. I have run my own lesson and training program for multiple years as well as trained with some of the best equestrians in the US including Bob McDonald who is a famous trainer and husband of Olympian dressage rider Debbie McDonald. To say the least I have an incredible passion for horses and love teaching other horse-loving kids all about horses as well.
So why teach about YouTube?
I have a YouTube channel with over 10K subscribers and have learned so much along the way. YouTube is an ever-changing platform but has not slowed down in growth. I love to study how the YouTube algorithms work and how to get great views on your videos. I have learned so much about how to have a successful channel and like to be able to benefit your aspiring YouTubers by providing the knowledge all in one place. I offer two main YouTube classes. A "crash course" where we go over everything and a social/support group in an ongoing class format where they can come together to meet other like-minded creators. Video creation and YouTube are a big passion of mine and I think it's wonderful to support like-minded children on their YouTube journey.
My teaching style:
I am a fun and upbeat teacher with a hand on conversation-based learning style. I like to include my students in every aspect of the teaching process whether it be asking questions or encouraging communication between my learners. I like to make sure my students are engaged and excited to take my classes. I want every class to be fun as well as an awesome learning experience.
Some fun facts about me:
I am the mother of 3 wonderful children ages 9, 12, and 14.
I live in Boise, ID but am originally from the Bay Area in Ca. and lived in Jackson Hole, WY for 10 years in between.
I love the ocean.
I have 4 younger siblings one of which is 20 years younger than me.
I have 1 dog and 3 bunnies.
If anyone has any questions for me I am happy to respond and I would love to see one of your learners in my classes.
