US Grade 5 - 7
This class covers three tea related topics. For the first part of class we will look at the broad view of the history of tea. Then we will look at how tea and tea culture has developed in different areas of the world. Lastly, we will look at types of tea and the science behind claims that tea is "healthy" or "good" for you. The class will be mostly lecture based, however there will be opportunities for questions and discussion. Learners are encouraged to share what they know already about tea. Or how tea plays a part in their life. All information will be on a powerpoint slide. If requested a handout with notes will also be provided. No prior knowledge is required. Learners may bring a favorite tea to share with class. This show and tell will include the learner describing the flavors of the tea and why they like it.
