Description
Class Experience
This is a mindful Yoga class in the branch of Pranayamas or breathing control exercises that is sweet, fun, and will enhance Learner's wellbeing in the moment, while also creating an awareness of how to best self regulate through our friend, the breath. We will cover a variation of breathing exercises, such as Snake, Bee, Bunny among others (for releasing/centering, relaxing/healing and balancing). The class will begin with a virtual circle where the kids will be invited to feel...
Students will learn 3 specific breathing techniques from the yogic tradition that they will be able to practice in the future when they would like to center, relax, and/or balance. Any one of these techniques has the gift of helping reestablish well-being at all levels, and as needed for their different life situations, such as prior to recitals, preparing to go to sleep, or any occasion they may need some me-time.
Teacher has a B.A. in psychology, is a Yoga & Meditation college professor, holds the highest credentials from the Yoga Alliance as a Teacher and lead Yoga Teacher Trainer, and is also a Yoga therapist.
This class meets once, so there is no homework, only an open invitation that they continue practicing to develop these wonderful life skills.
Learner will need a quiet space with no electronic interruptions, a mat, cushion or chair to practice comfortably.
My goal is that every child will learn the techniques during class, and the assessment will come at the end in the form of an encouraging review, or as a direct Congratulations. My expectation is that each child will have learned the techniques for each fascinating breath, and a lot more.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
