The rules were made to be broken! In this one-time class, students will learn about 10 famous, strong, and influential women in world history who broke the rules and forged their own path.

Note: I have recently accepted a full-time position and now teach very few classes on Outschool. At this time, I am unable to accommodate class requests. Thank you! Well-behaved women seldom make history, and in this class we will meet 10 defiant women in world history who didn't ask permission to make their mark on the world. Students will learn about some well-known troublemakers like Malala Yousafazi and Marie Curie, but also about lesser-known rebel-rousers such as Emmeline Pankhurst...
I have been teaching for over 15 years and I have a Master's degree in education, including a K-8 Social Studies endorsement.

The women discussed in this class led often unconventional lives and at times had shocking behavior. We also discuss the ancient Chinese practice of foot-binding, and I show a picture of a woman's feet (as they look when when the bindings are taken off) to help students understand. It may be hard for some students to see it.
