The journey to applying to college is a big one- between essays, interviews, and tours, it can be hard to know where to start, especially with your personal statement. In this class, learners will have the opportunity to get creative and explore potential personal statement topics. Instead of a formal class, this will be “spitball style.” This dynamic and creative approach will help students break the writer's block and get ready to put pen to paper. Learners will also be able to connect to and relate to other students that are starting this process!! One-on-one version is also available upon request
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to navigate the admissions essay writing process, especially the beginning stage. This class is a stepping stone to jumpstart the process and will provide students multiple avenues to go down for the personal statement. It is focused on getting the wheels turning and putting pen to paper, rather than a formal writing course.

Teacher expertise and credentials
2 Degrees
Master's Degree in Education from Universidad de Alcala de Henares
Bachelor's Degree from Georgetown University
As someone that has personally gone through the college application process not one, not two, but three times (transfer life!), I am more than familiar with the anxiety these tasks can produce. Two universities and a successful transfer later, I now help prospective college students navigate the process. I focus on finding new ways to view the process, switching to an excitement-based perspective rather than a fearful one.
