Students are asked periodically throughout class to demonstrate a dance move that they remember from class. No written assessment is provided. The more students repeat moves they remember during freestyle dance, the greater the indication that they are learning and enjoying what they are learning.Class Experience
Is your kid is curious about "break dancing"? Whether your child has no experience breakin', has learned some moves from Rae's Kids Dance Jam, or just makes up their own moves at home, this class is designed to help kids build a breakin' foundation. This self-paced course consist of 6 videos (approximately 12-18 minutes each) which introduce some break dance terminology, a dance warm-up, and a little on the dance culture. The dance warm is included in each video to encourage students not to skip this important step as strength and flexibility are necessary for harder moves. No back flips, head spins, headstands, or the worm. This class focuses on safety and execution. While the course is designed for students to follow each video independently, students under the recommended age should have a parent present when following the moves. If your child has tons of breakin' experience then this class is not recommended. This class is best for beginners or those looking to work on their foundation.

Parental Guidance
This class involves physical movement. I recommend using a space that allows you child to stand up and move. This does not need to be a large space. Some families have used kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, and even outside patios.
As with any physical activity by signing up for this class you are confirming that your child is healthy enough to participate and is capable of using good judgement when moving. This is not a break dance or gymnastics class but some kids will be eager to try movements that I have not shown them. By registering for this class you understand that I as the teacher am not responsible for any injury that my result due to class participation or not following class instructions.
This class includes funk, pop, rap, and hip hop music.
