Description
Class Experience
Students will be able to: -Annotate text -Apply reading strategies to understand meaning in text. -Summarize text. -Determine the meaning of general academic words and phrases in a text relevant to a topic or subject area.
I am a certified teacher in the state of Florida, and I have taught middle & high school Language Arts for over a decade. I have a BA in both Comparative Literature & Spanish Language and Literature from Hamilton College. I earned my Master of Science for Teachers in Education from Pace University, and I am a content creator for teachers, students and parents. I am currently an Associate Professor of Education at my local college.
Students should practice reading at least 20 minutes a day.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Google Docs will be used to access text.
This class will focus on school friendly informational text.
