Class Experience

Students will make bread dough. They will become proficient in the art of bread making. The teacher will consider student input for future recipes for this course. 
Week 1: we will be making dough from scratch. Students will need: 
1 and 1/4 cup water
2 Tbsp butter
2 tsp sugar
3/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp yeast  Or 1 pkg dry yeast
1 Tbsp flour
3 and 1/4 cup flour

We will mix and knead the dough, students will cook dough after they wait for the rising process on their own after it rises and after class. Students can send a photo to the teacher for teacher encouragement. 

Week 2: Cinnamon Rolls
Supplies:  raw dough for 1 loaf of bread, that has been already been mixed and risen 1 hour,
(bread dough can be frozen that is thawed or refrigerator biscuits)
brown sugar, cinnamon, 1 stick butter
glaze: powdered sugar, milk, vanilla
square or 9 " round pan for cinn rolls, can also use cupcake tins.

Week 3: monkey bread
Needed: 1 loaf of bread dough, cinnamon, 1 stick butter , bundt pan if you have one. 

week 4: Savory Italian pull apart bread
Needed: 1 loaf of bread dough (raw) , butter, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, garlic powder,  fresh parsley, cheese, mozzarella, and parmesan, marinara sauce for dipping if desired. 
Students may need to finish their recipe after class. Some future classes may require the student to bring dough that has been already mixed and ready for the recipe. The teacher will alert the students at the end of one class as to what is needed for the next one . Students may send a photo to the teacher to show completion of their project . 
Students will need to bring flour and yeast sugar and water , as well as a bread pan and pot holders for the first class. Student May use the flour of his/her choice being careful to only use ingredients safe for their students use. The teacher will alert the student for the ingredients needed for the next class as necessary. Please be aware that student will be using their oven to cook their own bread. Parental guidance may need to be implemented at parental discretion.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students can send photo of their completed project to the teacher. 
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parental guidance requested for knife use and oven use.
