In this course your student will learn: -How to accurately measure dry/wet ingredients. -The job of each ingredient we use while baking. - How to make delicious whole wheat bread, hamburger buns, soft pretzels, bagels and how to alter a recipe to make it their own!
I have been baking for over half of my life and it is one of my passions. In addition to being a self taught baker, I have also taken many courses on French baking, cookies, bread, cakes and more. Currently, I run an at home bakery where I bake for many different types of events. I have also been teaching young learners for the last ten years and have loved being able to combine my passion for baking and teaching on the Outschool platform. I can't wait to teach your learner all of the tips and tricks I have picked up throughout the years.
Since we will not be meeting live, the students will be required to do a "show and tell" video or picture for two of their baked goods through the five week course. In these "show and tells," they will share anything interesting that occurred during their baking process, any achievements and any difficulties they may have run into and they can share what changes they would make for the next time they bake this recipe. Students are also welcome to rank the deliciousness of their baked goods as well! These videos or pictures will be shared on our classroom page and this is also where their classmates will comment. Students will also be required to comment on two of their classmates "show and tell" videos throughout the five week course. These comments must be constructive, polite and encouraging. (Unkind words will not be tolerated in our course.)
