Students will learn and establish a daily routine for talking about the calendar in Portuguese. This will include basic math and literacy concepts.
Hello, my name is Adriana and I'm originally from Chicago, currently living in Puerto Rico. I teach ESL, Spanish and Portuguese. I have about 10 years of teaching experience. I have taught different subjects, in various types of school settings, with ages ranging from 2 years old to 22 years old. It is my goal to make learning fun, engaging, and interactive. My hobbies include art, skateboarding, snorkeling, yoga, and reading. I love to travel, hike, and dance too!
No homework will be assigned for this class. I only encourage students and families to welcome and include the Portuguese language by making connections in their daily lives as often as possible while watching, listening to and participating in the world around them.
Learner progress will be assessed daily during each lesson as the teacher sees and hears that the student has become independent in reciting the information learned during the calendar routine. Students will be able to ask and answer questions in the target language. Students will have individual turns to demonstrate progress and understanding. Parents can also assess their own child's progress as they become more independent during their participation in class as well as how they are using learned information outside of class.
2 hours 5 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
