Beginner Level
For this class, we will meet together over video. Through live online videos we will address four topics which are: Theory, technique, musicality, and performance. Theory includes learning rhythm, how to read notes, and how to identify musical symbols on sheet music, for example and up bow or a down bow. Technique includes the basics of how to hold and use your bow, left hand position, and where your violin should sit. Musicality includes playing by ear, adding dynamics, and even picking creative songs to learn. Performance involves memorization or each song, and assignments that involve playing in front of another person. My teaching style is one on one. I strive to create a fun and relaxing teaching style. My style allows students to learn skills correctly without blocking creativity with too much rigidity. I use the Suzuki method of teaching which involves students listening to the song, playing the song, receiving recommendation and correction from me, and moving to the next song once is is memorized and mastered. This class is for beginners, starting at age 6. However, I do accept older beginner students, as well.
