In this one-time class, we will learn about drugs and alcohol and the impact on the human brain. We will explore different types of drugs, including, alcohol, vaping, cigarettes, cannabis, cocaine, heroin, and prescription medications. This class is a great drug and alcohol education piece that informs the students how the human brain is impacted by each substance. The student will learn about drugs and alcohol and the impact on the human brain. The students will become familiar with how different substances function and process in the lobes of the brain.
I have a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling with a specialization in addictions counseling. I provide drug and alcohol education to metropolitan school systems and first-time offender programs. I have spent three years as a counselor in an addiction treatment center. I also have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Nutrition. I have taught brain functions, processes, and anatomy for two years.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Specific drug types and alcohol will be discussed. (Vaping, Cigarettes, Cannabis, Cocaine, Heroin, Alcohol, and Prescription Medications)
