We are unique, and we all possess intelligence in our own unique areas. We learn differently; we think differently; our brains function differently. And this makes each person special and gives him or her treasures that only he or she can offer to the world as a gift.

In this class, students will learn about the eight types of multiple intelligences. They will take an intelligence assessment — THIS IS NOT AN IQ TEST — to see what types of intelligences they possess. This self-knowledge will provide the student with information about how their brain works and how to apply this knowledge in other areas of their lives.

We will learn about each type of intelligence, see examples of people throughout history who fall into a particular category, and explore the areas of the brain that contribute to each intelligence.

This class is sure to make you appreciate your fascinating, powerful, and unique brain. So let’s have lively discussions, discover some fascinating information about our awesome brains, and wrap it up with a fun game of Kahoot.

Learning Goals

Students will learn about the eight types of multiple intelligences through a personal assessment, visual aids, short video clips, and discussions. Then, they will show what they know by playing a game of Kahoot.

I love science, especially the field of biology. I majored in pre-med in college and completed all the required biology courses. My degree is in psychology with a concentration in biology and English. I still study biology for fun and as a reminder and an appreciation of how wonderfully we are made. I cannot wait to share my love for and knowledge of biology with my students.
