Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
This class is not intended to be therapy or medical treatment or a replacement for therapy or medical treatment. I do not diagnose or treat any specific medical or psychiatric conditions in this course, rather this course is a way for all to strengthen habits of resilience through positive thinking and skills for stress reduction learned through GoZen!, Mind Ninja, MBSR instructor training from UMASS, and Mindful Schools Educator Essentials Course.
We will practice different mindfulness techniques during each class that I ask learners to practice for a few minutes each day, to see what they like. I also ask learners to notice something new each week about the topic we were discussing and see how it shows up in their lives.
I will provide a short (few pages) workbook that can be printed out once the course begins.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Material used is a mix from: GoZen! at https://gozen.com Dr. Rick Hansen's teachings at www.rickhanson.net MBSR teacher course material from UMASS Center for Mindfulness Mind Ninja Dr. Dan Siegel, neuroscientist Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor
