Braids and Beyond
Learn how to braid your hair and your friend’s hair with 3 basic styles. Three Strand braid, French braid, and Fishtail braid. If time allows, I will introduce another simple braid. Class requires a doll with hair, mannequin head with hair, or sister/friend. Skills will be introduced in class. Video links will be provided in the classroom comment section. This will allow reviewing skills for practice time when class is completed. Available at Walmart, Etsy, Amazon.

Students will learn how to braid hair into 4 braid types- 3 strand braid, French, Dutch, and Fishtail. Teacher will engage students with a short introduction and meet and greet. Class will then explore some slides of different braid types and some history of hair braiding. Teacher will explain how to braid hair step by step, as she demonstrates each style. As teacher demonstrates, she will open up classroom for questions and expansion on topic of braiding. After each demonstration, each student will have a chance to have hands on practice with their own models.Together we will evaluate each other’s work and review steps for practice and clarity.
Learning Goals
Students will explore and learn 4 types of hair braiding. Teacher will model how to Braid hair in 3 Strand braid, French Braid, Dutch Braid and Fishtail Braid. Classroom content will follow the five steps of inquiry. 1. Engage 2. Explore

By the end of class each student will have the basic knowledge of how to braid hair four different ways. Homework will be to practice and master these skills at home on their models/mannequins/dolls.

My name is teacher Angela and I reside in beautiful Colorado, USA. I am currently an online ESL teacher, published author, and former elementary education teacher. I also have a special education degree and have experience raising a significant needs son. Recently, I became an empty nester. I enjoy all the outdoor activities of Colorado with my husband and 3 grown children. I am also a certified nursing assistant and have worked with the elderly in dementia care.
