Beginner Level
Welcome to the Advanced Braiding Camp Mastery for Tweens, designed for young learners eager to master the art of braiding! This 1-week class will empower tweens with the skills to create beautiful and trendy twisted styles like Island Twists and Marley Boho Twists. Students will build their confidence and creativity as they progress from foundational techniques to more advanced looks. By the end of this course, your child will have the tools to create stunning braided hairstyles that they can proudly wear or show off to friends and family. Class Overview: Day 1: Boho/Island Twists Learn the basics of Island Twists, including proper sectioning and twisting techniques for a sleek, smooth look. Hone your twisting skills, troubleshoot tension issues, and perfect the technique for even, professional-looking twists. Day 2: Boho Knotless braids Discover the art of Boho knotless braids, a relaxed, style that's perfect for adding a fun and natural vibe to any look. By the end of the course, students will: Master the techniques of Island Twists and Knotless Boho braids. Be able to create textured and neat twists and braids for various looks. Gain confidence in creating neat hairstyles that promote hair growth. Interactive Sessions: Each class will feature live demonstrations with plenty of room for questions and practice. Your child will receive individualized attention during the sessions. Hands-On Practice: Each day, students will apply what they’ve learned by practicing on their own hair or mannequins. Real-time feedback will be given to ensure proper technique and progress. Celebration of Progress: Throughout the course, students will receive positive reinforcement for their efforts and achievements.

This class involves hands-on braiding techniques that require the use of tools such as combs, hair clips, and scissors for trimming. Students will also be working with synthetic hair products, including Marley and Island Twist hair, which are safe when used properly.
Parents should ensure their child has adequate space and a stable surface to work on. For safety, students should use scissors and other sharp tools with supervision, especially if they are new to handling them.
Additionally, please ensure that the camera and lighting setup are well-lit to avoid accidents, and encourage the use of a sturdy table to hold hair and tools securely.

I graduated from cosmetology school 17 years ago, and this foundation in hair care and styling has fueled my passion for teaching. I also hold a degree in Human Services, which shapes my approach to creating a supportive, inclusive environment for all my students.
As a homeschooling parent, I’ve had the unique opportunity to teach my daughters hair styling as part of their curriculum, which has influenced my teaching style. I believe in fostering creativity and offering hands-on learning that encourages each student to grow at their own pace.
In this course, my goal is not only to teach the technical aspects of braiding but also to spark creativity and confidence. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
