Are you Braider? Need some review? Want to learn? Want to learn some new Holiday Hairstyles? Aunt Sam, will teach you the basics of French braiding, Dutch braiding, Twist braiding, Fishtail braiding and more. This is a hands-on hair braiding camp. You will need both hands free to work the braid. It is preferred that the student does not use headphones, thus allowing freedom of movement. This course will be very interactive. There will not be a presentation or a lecture, rather the teacher will give live demonstrations of each braid as the students practice alongside. The teacher will move at the pace of the students while answering questions and giving feedback along the way. This camp is a combination of Aunt Sam's One-time braiding classes and more advanced braiding. It is expected that the students will have a head of hair on which to practice: a mannequin (secured to table/counter), a sibling, a parent or a friend. Here is a sneak peak of our Braiders' Camp, students will be learning: Day 1: • Basic French & Dutch braids. The lesson will involve a review of how to do a basic braid and how to incorporate the French braid and a basic Dutch braid. These 2 types of braids are the foundation of nearly every braided hairstyle. Day 2: • Review of French & Dutch Braids. Learn 2-Strand Braids: Fish-Tail braiding and Twist or Rope braiding. Day 3: • Review ALL the Braids and Have Fun! Learn tricks to the trade of Beautiful Braiding. Learn how to help hide loose ends, loosen the braid, tighten the braid, bubble the braid and incorporate the braids to make a crown or other styles (if time permits.) Let us know a hairstyle you would like to try that uses braids. We will move in a natural progression so that students are prepared for each stage and do not become overwhelmed. Power Point slides will be provided that cover French Braids, Twist and Fish-Tail Braids, for review. See you in class!

I started French braiding when I was 14. Now, with 6 daughters, I've braided their hair for over 25 years! My daughter, Abigail is going into hairdressing and has done all of her sisters' hair, whether that be perming, dying, or braiding. We work well together!
