Braid Camp | Become a Braidtastic Hair Expert (Ages 9-14)

In this 4-day camp, students will dive into the world of braiding by learning key techniques that build confidence, patience, and creativity. Each class is designed to take beginners step-by-step through the process, giving them time to practice, improve, and master each skill at their own pace.

Class Schedule:
	•	Day 1: Cornrows (No Extensions)
On the first day, students will learn the foundational technique of cornrows. We will focus on getting the technique right, with plenty of time for practice. No added extensions are used at this stage, so students can concentrate on their hand positioning and braid consistency.
	•	At-home practice suggestion: Students are encouraged to continue to practice on a sibling, doll, or mannequin before Day 2.
	•	Day 2: Refining Cornrows & Variations
We’ll continue refining cornrow braids and introduce variations (e.g., tighter and looser braids). Students will practice their technique and get individual feedback to ensure they are mastering the basics before moving on.
	•	At-home practice suggestion: Students will have time to practice additional cornrow techniques at home.
	•	Day 3: Box Braids with Extensions
Students will learn the classic technique of box braids with extensions. This technique introduces the added skill of working with hair extensions, and we’ll take it slow, giving students plenty of time to get comfortable with the new process.
	•	At-home practice suggestion: Practice on mannequins or siblings to perfect the technique before the final class.
	•	Day 4: Rope Twists & Review
On the final day, students will learn rope twists as another fun braiding option. We will also review all the techniques learned in the previous classes, allowing students to ask questions, troubleshoot, and refine their skills.
	•	At-home practice suggestion: Students can continue to practice all techniques they’ve learned and prepare to show off their new skills!

Please Note:
This class is for beginner to intermediate braiders. If you’ve already learned the basics of braiding, you may find the pace slow, but it’s a great opportunity to perfect your technique and gain more confidence. If you’re new to braiding, this class is perfect for you!
