Students will learn the cornrow and single braiding technique. 

I will lead the class by demonstrating the technique to the students 2-3 times and then the learner will begin practicing the technique. Cameras are encouraged to remain on for the entire duration of the course so that I can see the learner’s work. I like to ask questions and have a discussion with the learner to see if they’re retaining the information for the day. 

Learners do not need to have experience. This is a beginner level class that will teach basic braiding techniques. 

Class Structure: 
1. Introductions and discussion time about previous lesson 
2. Talk about the braiding hairstyle we will do that day
3. I will demonstrate the technique to the learner 2-3 times
4. I will then ask the learner to join in with me as I continue doing the technique with them 
5. Learners are encouraged to ask any questions they may have or any issues they’re finding when they’re styling hair 
6. I will discuss our next session and after class practice work 

This class is one on one so I will take my time during each class lesson to ensure the learner is grasping the information. I will go as slowly or quickly as the learner. The speed of the class is dependent upon the learner. If the learner needs to take extra time with a lesson we will not move on until the learner has learned the technique. 

This course will only teach beginner’s techniques. It is not a master level so I’m not expecting perfection from the learner. I am looking for progression from the learner’s previous class. Ex: If they struggle with cornrows I like to see them applying the lessons learned and becoming a little better than before. If they struggle with ponytails or any other beginner’s technique I will work on helping the learner become more confident.

Hair supplies for braiding 
Basic cornrows



Some lessons will include Power Point and discussions only. These classes will teach hair regimens, common hair issues, and more.
