Welcome! This is a welcoming, fun and safe space for your child to connect with others. Students are welcome to bring their Star Wars, Minecraft, Super Mario, Super Hero, Lego etc. to class to share and talk about with others! This class will give students a chance to practice social skills and maintain conversation. I hope that in this encouraging and fun environment your child will gain confidence and boost their self esteem. This class will benefit your child’s emotional well being by being a supportive community. During class each student will be given the chance to participate to the extent that they feel comfortable. Each class we will open with questions to welcome and share about our day. This class is meant to be an uplifting space so students are welcome to bring an item to show off or share exciting piece of news! Students can share all their favorite toys and special achievements from the week. It is super fun when kids find similar likes and converse about them together. This helps build and fortify relationships. Following our opening we will move into our theme for the week. (Students are also able to suggest themes on things that interest them for upcoming weeks as well.) I will ask thoughtful and guided questions that will lead into conversations about each topic. Students will not only have a chance to answer questions but converse with each other and learn more about their new friends. Students are also welcome to bring favorite toys, playdoh or fidgets to use during class if they wish! Included below is a list of topics that we will be discussing each week. The amount of time we spend on each topic depends on the flow of conversation that the students are having. Based on students suggestions any changes will be reflected here. Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome!
When students are interested in what they are doing, learning they will WANT to learn! I hope that your students will love to learn and become lifelong learners. I want all children to feel comfortable, engaged, encouraged and have fun in my classes I have worked with students from ages 0-14 for over 20 years. I have held several other jobs than teaching which I adored but at this point this is my passion.
My teaching experience comes from multiple sources. Online I have taught thousands of children overseas to learn English through VIPKid. VIPKid (now VIPTeacher) is known for their vigorous standards and training. I have also taught for an elite online program, called Synthesis. Synthesis is an elite program created by the one of the founders of Ad Astra. (Ad Astra is the school that Elon Musk created at SpaceX.) I have also taught thousands of children right here on Outschool since 2020.
Offline teaching experience comes from teaching at a Montessori pre-school, teaching swim and gym classes, summer camps and Sunday school. I also have taught students with a wide range of mental and physical abilities. All students are welcome in my classes and I am willing to make accommodations if requested.
My education consists of a BA in psychology, a BA in Conflict Resolution, TESL, TEOFL, over 40 online teaching certificates, mental health first aid certification, and palliative care certification.
I have two children who are everything to me. I homeschool them and we love going on adventures together. In my spare time I love travelling, baking, camping, Disney, swimming, the beach, water activities, working out, reading and all things full of sparkle and glitter! You can always find me taking a course or earning some kind of certificate.
Come join me and let's have an adventure together!
