Botany for Beginners: Little Scientists, Flower Parts
What's included
1 live meeting
25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Young aspiring botanists will learn 4 parts of a flower through hands on experiments and fun worksheets that can be colored after class. This is a class for students who have an interest in flowers and plants. Parents are welcome and also encouraged to help their child with the experiments and worksheets as needed. I am expecting to complete 2 short experiments and complete 2 worksheets during class, but these are young learners and I always expect the unexpected. No worries, as each worksheet can be completed after class if we run out of time. Learners should know how to use a glue stick. Labels for the plant parts should be cut out BEFORE class starts(see attached worksheet)

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello Parents! I am a retired Special Education Teacher with over 30 years of experience teaching grades 3-8 in all subject areas. I am dual certified with a BS/MS in Special and Regular Education in preschool through grade 12. At OutSchool, I offer educational classes in math that are engaging and geared toward the students in the class. I usually work with grade 3-7 students and provide a variety of math classes from private tutoring to group classes and camps on multiple skills, as well as single skill classes such as order of operations, algebra, integers, liquid measurement, and many many more! If necessary, I also modify my classes by scaffolding material for the different levels of students I may have. I am my students' biggest cheerleader and use humor to take the fear out of learning material that may be difficult. Everyone will learn!
I love teaching and want my students to enjoy learning. In addition to teaching, I love gardening and reading, my 2 adult children, Gina and Ryan, and my crazy dog, Luna. She just may show up from time to time in my classroom! I also own my own business working with parents and children on ways to manage stress, whether it's school-related or life-related, and I teach Reiki to adults.
