Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
We feel it is important for littles to get in the kitchen and learn to bake and cook. Baking not only builds confidence and prepares children for difficult life situations, disappointing outcomes, and making the most of it, but it also teaches them to think on their feet. It develops the same type of discipline as any form of sports or martial arts and can be incredible confidence-boosting and delicious.
We are professional chef instructors by trade (most of us are parents too!) and love learning (and sharing) different methods of food and bake preparation or just playing in the kitchen with our little learners, helping open their minds and palates up to new experiences.
Keep playing in the kitchen
We will provide a weekly supply list, well in advance of class, based on that week's theme. Worksheets or other collateral may occasionally be provided for download, and/or printing.
Self/Family
20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There may be some recipes we want to play with that require some pre-work - we will keep it simple and give plenty of notice in advance if any special items outside of your regular pantry will be needed. Usually, it will be consumables like a 6-pack of cupcakes and jar of icing (of course you can make it from scratch and we are always happy to provide recipes. Hot ovens, microwaves, sharp tools, and electronics all may need to be used. With this age group, we do require that our young bakers have their adult sous chefs close by to assist.
