Boost Your Engines for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

In this 45-minute one-time class,  I am calling all racing champions.  Are you ready to bring your best Mario skills? You are invited to join a go-kart racing competition.  It's a race to see who is the fastest driver.  Learners will be able to socialize and make new friends in a safe gaming environment.  Gamers will discover new learning strategies such as how many laps you will need to win the race and what are the best items to use to get ahead of your opponent.  Are you the best racer in "Animal Crossing Circuit, Rainbow Road, or Shy Guy Falls"?   

VERY IMPORTANT: Please note that the learner will not be able to participate in class if they don't have the following. 
-A Nintendo Switch 
-A copy of Mario Party Superstars
-A subscription to the Nintendo Switch Online Service

The class will follow this procedure to ensure a safe and encouraging gaming environment:
                                 1. Introduction to the class/ class expectations
                                 2. Exchange friend codes 
                                 3. Choose the level of popularity
                                 4. Play Mario Kart 8
                                 5. Cooldown/reflect on the game

Learners will demonstrate good sportsmanship and promote positivity in various games such as 2 versus 2 or 4-player games.  The topics that will be covered in class are discussion questions such as:

                                   What character did you choose and why?
                                   Where can you find this item?
                                   How many items do you have?
                                   Why did you decide to use this item?
                                   When did you use this strategy?

The teacher will provide any additional guidance and feedback to support learners throughout the lesson.  The teacher will set the duration of the game.  This is equivalent to 40 minutes depending on the timing of the game.
