- The students will practice and develop their literary analytical skills as they consider the author's choices and identify the themes, point of view, characterization, diction, figurative language, and historical context. There is also a research component to many of the creative projects choices and the learners will be encouraged to develop their researching skills alongside their creative and analytical skills.

I'm gentle and encouraging. My classes include many creative projects (dreamed up by my ADHD mind!) There are also many options and each learner can choose their own creative project!
The students are not required to purchase any novels for this course since we will be using public domain texts. Each selection will be provided digitally.
Given the historical nature of these texts, the students may come across and discuss different values from their own. However, our discussions will focus on the historical context without condoning any particular trend, attitude, or value. We will recognize that times have changed and that these are products of their time. Also, students will have the opportunity to address any actions, attitudes, or values and update the classic (one of the creative choices).
