In this one-time Preschool story time class, learners will have an alphabet adventure climbing the coconut tree with all the letters from a-z. We will begin our class with our Welcome and Hello songs and then sing The Alphabet Song. Then, we will read the book: “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault. This classic children's book is a fun way to introduce the alphabet. We will then play alphabet BINGO with the lowercase letters. Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I am passionate about early childhood literacy and literacy has always been an integral part of my classroom. I have seven years teaching experience with preschool-aged children. I hold a Professional Educators license with endorsements in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and a concentration in Reading and Language Arts. I will be doing focused story times often integrating reading with math, science, and social studies. I will also be doing “double features” which feature two books that are the same in some way: topic, author, or series. My favorite is reading a fiction and non-fiction book on the same topic. This is a fun way to introduce young readers to non-fiction. My classes are interactive with songs and games. I enjoy traveling and going to museums and plays.
