Join us as we journey through *Ragweed* by Avi, a thrilling tale of adventure and courage! In this class, we will explore challenging vocabulary words, create character profiles, and dive into the themes of the book—all while having fun. Each week, we’ll craft creative projects, play games to test our book knowledge, and think deeply about the story’s lessons. This is not a deep dive but a lively and engaging discussion where all students, including those in special education, are welcome to participate. Come ready to read, create, and explore!
Learning Goals
Expand Vocabulary & Comprehension – Students will learn and discuss challenging vocabulary words from Ragweed, using context clues and creative activities to deepen their understanding.Engage with Characters & Themes – Students will create character profiles and participate in discussions to explore the personalities, motivations, and themes within the book, encouraging critical thinking.Syllabus

Learning Needs
This class is for all students, but it is designed with Special Education students in mind.
Supply List
Ragweed by Avi Notebook Pencil Each week, we will do a small craft. The materials for the craft will be announced at the beginning of each week. We will not use anything beyond basic craft supplies such as paper, glue sticks, markers, scissors, crayons, and construction paper.
