Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 10
Have you ever read a book and thought "This was written FOR ME!" or "How does this writer know EXACTLY how I feel."
I believe that this happens to ALL of us.

In this class I want us to share with each other the quotes, poems, messages (and much more) that have inspired and resonated with us. These can be quotes from books, excerpts from poems, speeches - the list goes on. There is no right or wrong answer here.

Bring something that has inspired you.
I will be sharing from authors and mentors such as Dr. Spencer Johnson, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Harvey, Paulo Coelho, Elizabeth Gilbert, Deepak Chopra - the list goes on and on of people who have inspired me, saved me and continue to motivate me.

This will be a sharing based class. You will need to bring AT LEAST one quote/passage/reading to class to share. You are free to share as much or as little as you want about the reading. Why does it inspire you? What have you learned from this quote? How do you try to incorporate this idea into your own life? I recommend bringing a pen and paper to class to write down anything that inspires you during our class while others share.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to reflect on different readings, speeches, quotes that have inspired them along the way. Students will also be able to hear from their peers about authors, stories, movies that have inspired them. The objective here is to inspire and be inspired in return. I will be encouraging note-taking and reflections throughout the class as a way for them to build or continue a habit of writing things down.
