US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
"The simplest moment has the potential to become extraordinary in this beautiful book by Julie Morstad. From getting dressed, to having breakfast, to choosing way to go. Today has a little something to delight everyone." (from the dust cover published by Simply Read Books). Through experiencing this book, learners will develop English language skills and their appreciation for literature. They will talk about the illustrations and respond to the text. They will practice and develop their listening and comprehension skills and develop vocabulary. We will talk about the author/illustrator and the content. Learners will respond to and articulate the meaning they derive from the illustrations and the text. Your learner will also have the opportunity to read portions of the the text, if they are willing. My approach to teaching and learning is child-centred. Your learner will be gently encouraged to participate in ways that feel comfortable to them. The class is suitable for students who are learning English as well as those who are already fluent in the language. My response to individual students is differentiated, offering support and challenges where appropriate.
